Virtual Learning Academy is thriving

While remote learning has been tough for some, it is just right for students in Dutchess BOCES’ Virtual Academy. The academy was created for students whose districts determined they could not return to the classroom because of the COVID-19 virus. It started small, but now has about 55 students, ranging from K-12, from various school districts. It continues to grow.

Team BOCES takes the “Plunge”

Dutchess BOCES staff and students raised an incredible $17,954 for the Special Olympics by jumping into the cold waters of Sharpe Reservation in Fishkill on February 19 during the annual Polar Plunge. BOCES employees have participated, collecting pledges for their bravery, since 2015.

BOCES debates are back

High school students were back at Dutchess Community College (DCC) to participate in the Fall/Winter Dutchess BOCES Debate, after two years without in-person debates due to COVID-19.

Dutchess BOCES offering new eSports service

Dutchess BOCES is launching a new eSports service that will provide school districts the opportunity to enter teams into the world of organized, competitive, video gaming.  Esports, or electronic sports, require critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity that can help support academic performance.

Families asked to report COVID-19 absences

Dutchess BOCES is committed to providing a safe and healthy environment for our students.
