Culinary students celebrate acceptance to The CIA

Culinary students Maison Migliore and Ashley Kayse-Hughes pose with CIA Mascot, Sting.
An odd visitor stopped into Dutchess BOCES’ Career and Technical Institute recently. Sting – not the lead singer for The Police, the Culinary Institute of America’s honeybee mascot - surprised two students in the Culinary Arts Program Nov. 29 to celebrate their acceptance.

Students create cards for heroes who served country

BOCES Board Member and veteran Rob Rubin thanks students for the Veterans Day cards they made.
Students at Dutchess BOCES’ Salt Point Center (SPC) honored our country’s veterans with colorful handwritten cards and learned about veterans’ importance. BOCES Board Member and Presiding Officer of the Poughkeepsie Jewish War Veterans Rob Rubin collected the cards, which he personally delivered to local veterans during the Nov. 11 ceremony at the Dutchess County War Memorial in Poughkeepsie.

Library system provides much more than books

Red Hook Library Media Specialist Tanya Sasvary works with students in the library.
While Dutchess BOCES does not have a physical library, it offers a comprehensive school library system providing numerous services to support students’ learning process not just at BOCES, but at several school districts countywide.
