CTI Student Given Leadership Award

Henry Cavanaugh, a second-year student in the Career & Technical Institute’s (CTI) Culinary Arts program, was recently selected as a recipient of the 2026 Thomas Olivo Leadership Award for Association for Career and Technical Education Administrators (ACTEA) Zone 4, representing the Hudson Valley region.


Restorative Justice Becomes Regular Part of RA Schedule

This year, Resilience Academy students and staff dove into restorative justice with classroom sessions with help from a professional in the field. Restorative justice brings together individuals impacted by a conflict in order to understand the incident and identify ways to move forward and can become a transformative collective experience of healing through deepened connection and understanding.


Let Books Be Books: Banned Books Symposium Turns Five

Educators and librarians from across New York and New Jersey gathered at Dutchess BOCES in May for the fifth biennial Banned Books Symposium. BOCES’ School Library System Coordinator Silvia Lloyd, noted that banned books often pique students’ curiosity because when they are told a book is off-limits, it creates a “forbidden fruit” effect, serving as a marketing tool for literacy.

Third Annual Fashion Expo Ushers In Changes
