Dutchess BOCES' School Safety and Security Department provides comprehensive environmental, occupational health, safety, and security consulting services to participating component school districts led by Director of Safety and Security Jacqueline Fama. Our experienced professionals help districts comply with federal, state, and local regulations while serving as liaisons to regulatory agencies and environmental contractors to maintain safe, healthy, and secure learning environments for all students and staff.

In addition to regulatory compliance and environmental health support, the department offers extensive training, planning, safety, and security services that strengthen emergency preparedness, enhance school security, and promote a culture of safety throughout the district.

Fama brings seven years of experience as a regional safety technician for Putnam Northern Westchester BOCES to the role, along with her experience working with students with emotional disabilities where she first became familiar with crisis prevention and behavioral threat assessment in New York City and later Pawling Elementary School.

Community Crisis Response Team (CCRT)

The Community Crisis Response Team is composed of dedicated volunteers from our component school districts and community mental health agencies throughout the region. The team provides essential post-crisis support, including consultation, observation, counseling, and follow-up services such as debriefing and evaluation after a serious school crisis.

Being a member of the CCRT is a highly respected and meaningful role. The valuable contributions of the team are deeply appreciated by Dutchess BOCES, its component school districts, and community mental health partners across the region.

For more information or to get involved, please email Jackie Fama or Denise Dzikowski.
