The holiday season was in full swing at Dutchess BOCES over the last two weeks, where students and staff participated in and spread cheer.

Students in the Career and Technical Institute’s Culinary Arts and Restaurant Management program are used to tackling all kinds of challenges in the kitchen. Whether they are designing custom meal plans, strategizing around different preferences and conquering ingredient substitutions.

Students and staff at the Resilience Academy are in the spirit of holiday giving for school families in need.

Dancing aliens, lizards, sloths and moose appeared at Salt Point Center last week, springing from the minds of students as they learned coding basics as part of Computer Science Education Week.

Dutchess BOCES Career and Technical Institute and Resilience Academy students were given the opportunity to hear from admissions counselors from Dutchess Community College and learn about the wide range of opportunities available to them.

Students in CTI’s Security and Law morning program learned about crime scene investigation techniques Friday, Dec. 12, from Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office detectives Kurt Twaddell and Brian Wilber. They are part of the department’s Crime Scene Unit.

Students and staff at Dutchess BOCES prepared for Thanksgiving in many fun ways. Culinary students at the Career & Technical Institute received a demonstration from Chef Instructor Gabriel Ross on different ways to prepare turkey and how to make it flavorful.
