An SPC student perfects her leprechaun trap Tuesday.Dutchess BOCES students and staff had the luck of the Irish leading up to St. Patrick's Day today, celebrating across the campus.
It all began Friday, as Culinary Arts and Restaurant Management students made savory corned beef Reubens with fresh-baked Irish soda bread and coleslaw on the side for staff lunches.
On Tuesday, students in the Careers in Animal & Plant Sciences program invited everyone to have some popcorn, play a game, and color in four-leaf clovers at an event called “Dublin Our Luck.”
Salt Point Center spent time setting up cute and elaborate leprechaun traps filled with Lucky Charms and gold coins, while one leprechaun left footsteps, a pot of gold, his top hat and plenty of mischief in one classroom. There were even orange, green and white swirled bagels on hand for breakfast.
Students in Sheri Tompkins class dressed in green and posed for a photo.Resilience Academy students and staff also joined in on the fun by dressing not just in green, but in matching top hats, socks and necklaces as part of Spirit Week, during which they are encouraged to show their school spirit with different themed days.
