Students and staff at Dutchess BOCES prepared for Thanksgiving in many fun ways. Culinary students at the Career & Technical Institute received a demonstration from Chef Instructor Gabriel Ross on different ways to prepare turkey and how to make it flavorful. Staff also picked up homemade pies they ordered just in time for the big meal.
Resilience Academy students and staff, some in turkey costumes and hats, participated in the annual Turkey Trot where they looped around the CTI/RA building and were awarded with sweet treats and hot chocolate. In addition, students in Teacher Stephen Blair's class prepared a Thanksgiving meal which they served and enjoyed in the school's cafeteria.
Salt Point Center's annual Thanksgiving lunch began with students marching through the hallways with homemade balloons, inspired by the book "Balloons Over Broadway," which teaches readers about how the annual Macy's Thanksgiving Parade came to be. This was followed by everyone savoring a traditional Thanksgiving turkey lunch that was plated and served by Administrative Building staff.
