“When I look around this room, I see faces of people who make a difference every single day,” remarked District Superintendent Dr. Jodi DeLucia in her speech at the 2025 End of Year Recognition Ceremony.
Faculty, staff and administration gathered June 27 for the annual tradition of honoring BOCES employees who have reached milestones, such as achieving tenure or a certain amount of service at BOCES, and recognizing staff for various accomplishments and achievements.
Five individuals received employee recognition awards. Countless others were recognized for being nominated to receive this honor. The five award recipients were Anthony Manell (support staff), Lisa Chanowsky (clerical), Vincent Giandalone (instructional support), Richard Petschko (teacher) and Michael Skerritt (administrator).
“I’m so proud of our ability to dedicate resources to preserving and protecting the health and safety of our staff,” shared Skerritt. “I’m proud to work for an agency that upholds those standards.”
Chanowsky was recognized for always going above and beyond in everything she does. At the ceremony, she was referred to as being integral to our organization and deserving to be recognized as such.
Petschko, one of the Trade Electric teachers, was honored, in part for his work in reshaping the program. He spoke about some of the innovative work he has been a part of here. “We’re in the final stages of approval for our solar grant. I couldn't have done it without the support of all of our team. It took a whole team to get this and it looks like we’re doing it.”
“I’m proud of all of the students. There’s so much to be proud of.” said Manell fondly reflecting on his time working with students from the Computer Hardware Technology and Networking programs on their work-based learning hours. This work is one of the reasons he was chosen.
Giandalone was described as creating a calm and safe environment for all those he has worked with. He was credited for caring deeply about every student.
