Water games, carnival activities, bubbles and a DJ electrified Salt Point Center on June 5, 2025, at its annual field day! The outdoor activities took place over three sessions, so students could enjoy a variety of activities, rotating from station to station with their class to ensure everyone got to experience each game. Community-building, teamwork and positive peer interaction activities took the place of regular classroom instruction for the day while students were inside.
Many said the water activities were their favorite part, taking advantage of the chance to cool themselves off during such a beautiful, sunny day. They could enjoy a DIY waterslide or participate in a game that consisted of aiming a water gun to push a cup along a string in a race with another student.
“I’m really good at this,” said one student, filling his water gun to the brim. “You have to see!”
Allison Hernandez shared that the enormous parachute was her favorite part of field day. She showed off her skills by running underneath the rainbow parachute and consistently making it to the other side with time to spare!
The entire school was then treated to a delicious barbeque lunch consisting of hot dogs, hamburgers, pasta salad, fruit salad, chips and many more choices.
At the end of the day, students enjoyed Stewart’s ice cream and a wide selection of toppings. “I’m excited for vanilla ice cream!” said Hernandez.
Principal Melissa Murphy said, “From the moment students stepped outside the energy was high and the smiles were contagious. It was a day filled with movement, food, laughter, music, and meaningful connection.”
