FFA held its 8th annual banquet on May 20, 2025. The National FFA Organization is a nationwide youth organization that cultivates the growth of emerging leaders in the agricultural field. The group focuses on hands-on learning and experiences that prepare students for success in their professional careers.
This was an exciting event that covered the successful achievements of the past year. Guest speaker Amy Smith addressed the chapter, touching on the excitement that came with being an FFA adviser and as an individual who has always been interested in the organization.
“I didn’t know much about FFA before I came here. We didn’t have one where I went to school…and the only members I knew were my cousins in Arizona.” said Smith who also is the integrated science teacher in the Careers in Animal and Plant Sciences class. “I love the community it has built here at CTI and in the classroom, and I have seen the impact it has on students to go on and follow their dreams - whether related to plant and animal science or not. I’ve been lucky enough to keep in touch with some past students, some of which I see in the audience now, and there are no words to express how proud I am of all they’ve already accomplished!”
Group members who completed their first year and met requirements received a Greenhand Degree at the event. The group also discussed preliminary plans for the upcoming year and announced its new officers.
