Donations to the Dutchess BOCES Education Foundation will make double the impact through May 1, 2024. A generous donor has offered to match all gifts up to $10,000 dollars to support the foundation’s annual appeal.

“Our goal is to enhance the education and experiences of the students at BOCES. We raise money to support teacher mini grants and student scholarships,” shared President June Markle. “The more money that’s donated, the more we can give back to the teachers and the students.”

Since its founding in 2015, the foundation has awarded more than $8,000 in mini grants to support exciting learning opportunities across all aspects of BOCES.

At the Resilience Academy, the foundation funded the robotics club, and at Salt Point Center, funds supported the creation of a daily living classroom where students learn kitchen, cleaning and other skills.

The foundation also helped fund a joint Career and Technical Institute/Rebuilding Together project which created a house numbering system that made it so emergency services could identify the residences.

These are just a few examples of how the foundation has helped BOCES students and staff.

“We encourage teachers from all schools at BOCES to apply to encourage creativity and fund opportunities that wouldn’t be in the budget otherwise,” shared Markle.

In addition to mini-grants, the foundation offers scholarships to graduating seniors from CTI and the Resilience Academy, and provides aid with tuition for students at the Adult Learning Institute.

“Public education is a right. Enhanced public education is a dream.  A dream, that we, in partnership with you, can make come true at Dutchess BOCES,” said Markle.
