Students learn to wire a thermostat
Do you want to tackle electrical projects in your home? Do you want to wire your new basement walls, update a light fixture in your bathroom, or modify your family room to a 3-way switch for lighting? Taking on these DIY projects is a big commitment when you are unsure where to start. 

We will teach you the basic skills you need to take on your DIY electrical projects.  You will receive hands-on instruction and guidance from an expert instructor.  This class is designed to specifically meet the needs of homeowners looking to increase their electrical skills to take on some of the simpler projects in their homes. 

You will gain a knowledge of the basics: voltage, grounding, circuit breakers, how a three-way switch works, what wire nuts are and how to comply with the latest building regulations.

Your biggest take-way from this course is that you will learn how to make electrical improvements that are safe and code compliant.

  • Electrical Panels Installation & Wiring
  • General Receptacles Installation
  • AFCI/GFCI Receptacles Installation
  • Switches & Lighting Fixtures

Safety glasses will be provided. Please bring these tools to class:

1. Tester (voltage)

2. Meter (voltage)

3. Lineman Plier

4. Philips head and flat head screw drivers

5. 1 pair of channel locks

6. Utility knife

7. Hammer
