A Night of Book Talks

On May 10th nearly 100 books from the American Library Association Notable Children's Book List were presented by children's literature specialists Randall Enos and Julie Baxter. These titles are considered the best and brightest of those published in 2015 for children and young adults from birth through age 14. This was a joint workshop for librarians from Dutchess BOCES School Library System and MHLS. See pictures below.

The East Greenbush Central School District is accepting applications for a 1.0 Probationary Tenure Track Library Media Specialist. Candidates for this position shall possess NYS Certification as a School Media Specialist and preferably have experience at both the elementary & high school levels. Qualified candidates MUST apply to OLAS, submit complete application including cover letter, up-to-date resume & EGCSD Instructional Application (found on the website egcsd.org). Inquiry Immersion Weekend

The regional school library systems (Dutchess, Sullivan, and Ulster) are co-sponsoring a weekend of inquiry immersion at the Diamond Mills Hotel in Saugerties, NY.   We will explore the Empire State Information Fluency Continuum (ESIFC) and Barbara Stripling's Model of Inquiry.

Join us to learn more about embedding library instruction and resources into the curricular goals of your building.   Plan to stay overnight so that you are able to feel recharged and re-energized when you return to work on Monday morning!
