Mrs. Catavero's Class
Our PEACCE class at Hagan Elementary is designed to have structure and support while allowing opportunities for mainstreaming. We are included in all building activities including assemblies, book fairs, afterschool activities and other school wide events.
The students eat lunch in the cafeteria and recess on the playground with their grade level peers. They have the opportunity to participate in chorus and instrument programs if they are interested. We have access to the resources in the building such as library and computer lab.
Recently, Hagan students have accepted Rachel’s Challenge. As part of their community project they ran a “Stuff the Bus” Campaign and stuffed a school bus for the Food Pantries of the Hudson Valley. Our whole class participated in the project. One of our students was selected along with other students to be a part of an interview with Joe Daily from Q92. Another student was selected to take our stuffed bus to Route 9 Stop and Shop and stuff the big bus with Joe Daily.
