Victoria Arndt is a junior in the early childhood education program from Wappingers Central School District.

Why did you choose to attend the CTI early childhood education program?
I chose to do the early childhood program because I want to help the kids grow and teach them right and wrong so they will grow up to be nice people in the world.

When I was younger, I helped out a lot in a day care in Wappingers, which is part of what inspired me to come here.

I like helping people and making people happy.

What have you learned so far?

I have learned that to work with kids you need a lot of patience. In our assignments, we learn different topics of child development.

I am learning different things about using bulletin boards in the classroom and safety demos for the kids like how to wash hands properly.

At the pre-school we go to, the teachers are really nice, and I help them however I can.

What is your favorite part of the program?

My favorite part of the program is meeting new people from different school districts. It's nice to be able to see different points of view.

What are your aspirations or plans after you complete the program?

When I am done with the program, I would like to go to Dutchess Community College. I want to be a social worker or a second grade teacher. I definitely want to be in the school setting. I would like to help kids with their mental health.
