December 10, 2010 SkillsUSA Students support Toys 4 Tots Collection Fundraiser at the local Poughkeepsie Plaza Mall!
Three SkillsUSA students from CTI participated along with the U.S. Marines Reserves by manning a collection point for the "Toys For Tots" Annual Christmas Drive.
The three students showed below, faced a bitter cold evening with temperatures in the low to mid 20's this past Friday night collecting toys and soliciting donations for this charitable event. Dave, Richard and Zachary helped collect $440.00 in cash and over 85 toys. They passed out flyers, and greeted customers with "Support Toys for Tots" and "Happy Holidays".
The students helped organize this event by contacting a local radio station WRRD to advertise the event, and coordinated with the local SkillsUSA chapter at CTI for other support.
Our thanks to Dave, Richard and Zachary for showing the leadership and initiative to participate in this annual fundraiser supported by Ms. Clarice Murphy of the Dutchess County Chapter for Toys For Tots.
