The CELEBRATE program [funded by the Technology Literacy Challenge Fund Grant (administered jointly by the NYSED & US Department of Education)] was designed to address literacy by focusing efforts on improving achievement in the early grades, K-4. By improving practice, using technology to build a solid foundation of skills and abilities and developing strong cooperation among homes, schools, communities and businesses, CELEBRATE aligned the critical resources necessary to promote early literacy and school success.
One of the several, and very valuable, "by-products" of this grant, has been the creation of Learning Experiences by its 150+ participating teachers, who have taken their Learning Experiences through a county-wide Peer Review process that was modeled after the Statewide Peer Review process [see the section below about the NYS Virtual Learning System].
