Microcomputer Repair Service [MCR] is a technical support service providing hardware repair, upgrades, and maintenance of microcomputer systems and peripheral devices. Convenience, flexibility, and complete follow through are primary components of this service. The service continues to evolve according to new technological trends and requests of the Learning Technology Services Advisory Committee, within the parameters set by the NYS Department of Education.

Major Components of MCR

  • Industry recognized A+ trained and certified technicians
  • Troubleshooting, diagnostics, general testing, parts removal/installation, configuration, cleaning and hardware upgrades as requested
  • Technical support documentation and resources available to facilitate repairs
  • Authorized warranty repair center for IBM & Dell
  • Service performed on-site whenever possible
  • Off-site service if necessary or if preferred by the districts
  • Donated stock of used parts is maintained at no charge to the districts
  • Stock of common new parts is maintained to facilitate quick turn-around time. These parts are direct billed to each district as they are used in a repair
  • Purchase of other new parts as necessary, are direct-billed to the districts
  • Preventive maintenance of equipment is performed throughout the year
  • MCR handles the outsourcing of repairs as necessary
  • State aid applies to all labor hours billed and billable repair parts for Dutchess BOCES assets installed in district locations
