We are students in Mrs. Vitek's Resource Room. We go here to get help in reading, math, and writing. We like to play on the computers. We like to do projects. We have done projects on the manatee, desert tortoise, butterfly gardens, the Inuit and more. This web page on colonial history is our latest project. We think the resource room is lots of fun.

We go to the Nassau School. We have grades Kindergarten to fifth. There are 27 classrooms in our school. There are 324 students in our school. At Nassau School there are great teachers!

The Nassau School is in the Spackenkill School District. It is a small district. There are four different schools. They are the Nassau School, Hagan School, Todd Middle School and Spackenkill High School. In the Spackenkill School District all the teachers make the students be responsible for their own learning.

Spackenkill School District is in the Town of Poughkeepsie. There is a big mall in our town. Our town is by the Hudson River. It is 71 miles away from New York City. To find us on the map look for 45 degrees North latitude and 21 degrees West longitude.

The Town of Poughkeepsie is in Dutchess County. Dutchess County is one of 62 counties in our state. We have a lot of historic sites, such as FDR's home. He was a famous president. There are a lot of mansions such as the Vanderbilt Mansion. There are a lot of places for tourists to visit in Dutchess County.

Dutchess County is in the state of New York. The capital of our state is Albany. Our state nick name is the Empire State. We rank third in population and 27th in land area. Our state song is "I Love New York" and you will love it too!
