The CEO Forum on Education & Technology

The Dutchess School Library System has gathered a collection of links to VERY helpful resources, such as WebPAC, the Web Public Access Catalog, where you can find (and even reserve) books, etc. in several libraries located throughout Dutchess County. The site also includes links to several online research databases. Please "check it out"!

Grants Update
The Dutchess BOCES Office of Communications and Grants Research posts current grant opportunities along with eligibility criteria, information about the application process, and deadlines.

The Hudson Valley Regional School Support Center serves Dutchess, Orange-Ulster, Sullivan, Ulster, Putnam-Northern Westchester, Southern Westchester, Rockland, Otsego-Northern Catskills, and Delaware-Chenango-Madison-Otsego BOCES, as well as the City School District of Yonkers.

"The Hudson Valley Regional School Support Center’s mission is to provide direct and coordinated services to school districts and buildings focusing on the sustainable improvement of student achievement."

An emphasis of the Hudson Valley RSSC is the collaboration and development of regional partnerships which enhance the work of all the individual programs.

Just for the Kids: Just for the Kids motivates educators and the public to take action to improve schools by giving them a clear picture of a school's academic condition and identifying the effective practices found in high-performing schools.

Mid-Hudson Educational Resources
Mid-Hudson Educational Resources is the result of a collaborative effort from the 4 BOCES & the Regional Information Center in the Mid-Hudson region. It includes links to regional projects such as the Mid-Hudson Internet Literacy Consortium's collection of Internet literacy resources.

NYS Education Department

  • The New York State Virtual Learning System
    The purpose of the New York State Education Department Virtual Learning System is to encourage the use of the internet as a tool for teaching and learning and to provide help to classroom teachers in locating and using internet resources for instruction.

    The VLS presents the definitive set of New York State's learning standards, including the full text of the 28 standards and their respective key ideas and performance indicators, as well as the alternate performance indicators for students with severe disabilities.

    The VLS offers resources that classroom teachers can use to support preK-12 standards-based instruction, such as sample tasks and learning experiences, with an emphasis on mathematics and English language arts, particularly early literacy. Other teaching resources, including those from the State Library, Public Broadcasting Services, and Archives, are also available.

It examines the availability of this technology in their classrooms and schools, their training and preparation for using it, and the barriers to technology use they encounter.
