SETRC
The Special Education Training and Resource Center [SETRC] at Dutchess BOCES is located in the Educational Resources Division at the BOCES Educational Training Academy [BETA], 900 Dutchess Turnpike, Poughkeepsie, New York. SETRC also serves as a repository for the New York State Department of Education, offering state publications and bulletins related to disabilities which are available to public and private schools within Dutchess County. In addition, both professional and parent resource materials are available for loan to teachers, administrators, related service providers, parents, students and agency personnel. Please contact the SETRC office by telephone [845.486.4840 x3095] or fax [845.483.3648].
SETRC provides coaching and technical assistance to school districts based on district's specific needs. There are fifty-six SETRC offices located throughout New York State, typically at each of the BOCES and the big five cities.
The first priority for services is given to districts involved in the quality assurance review process: facilitative, collaborative or policy review. All other staff development needs are determined by the district's Comprehensive System of Personnel Development [CSPD], Comprehensive District Educational Plan [CDEP] and Professional Development Plan [PDP] and district Vocational and Educational Services for Individuals with Disabilities [VESID] key performance indicator progress.
