Refrigeration Service Engineers Society [RSES]
The Refrigeration Service Engineers Society [RSES] offers industry leading educational and certification programs to service professionals of all experience levels engaged in heating, ventilation, air conditioning or refrigeration. MTI is an approved provider of this comprehensive, cutting-edge program. RSES’ mission is to advance the professionalism and proficiency of the HVAC industry. These courses offered by MTI may be counted towards the continuing education credits needed by NATE Certified individuals.

North American Technician Excellence [NATE]
North American Technician Excellence, Inc. [NATE] is the leading certification program for technicians in the heating, ventilation, air-conditioning industry and is the only test supported by the entire industry.
NATE exams reflect what technicians need to know to effectively service and install today's sophisticated HVAC systems. To earn certification you must take the NATE core exam consisting of 50 questions which covers: Safety, tools, soft skills, principles of heat transfer and total comfort, and electrical questions.

You must also take one or more NATE specialty exams where you choose a speciality based on the equipment and systems you work on. The specialities relate to pertinent Knowledge Areas of Technician Expertise [KATE]. Each exam consists of 100 questions that covers: Installation, service, system components, applied knowledge of regulations, codes, and safety.
KATE Specialities:
- Air Conditioning
- Air Distribution
- Gas - Warm Air Heating
- Heat Pumps - Air to Air
- Oil - Warm Air Heating
Prerequisites:
Installation Technicians must have at least one year field experience. Those with less should take the and pass the Industry Competency Exam [ICE].
