Finish Carpentry

CTI Finish Carpentry Student

Finish Carpentry is a one year program that will introduce students to the tools, methods, and skills used in the finish carpentry trade. Emphasis is placed on safety, theory, blueprint reading, related math, and quality. Students will learn through hands-on projects that include cabinet & furniture making, milling & installing trim, as well as wood finishing & refinishing techniques. Students who satisfactorily complete this course will be prepared for entry level employment in the carpentry field.

Students who successfully complete this 500 hour certificate program will be eligible to sit for National Center for Construction Education & Research [NCCER] certification.

Advanced College Credits:

Students who successfully complete this program are eligible to receive college credit toward their degree at SUNY Morrisville or at SUNY Delhi.

Prerequisites:

Students will be required to purchase a uniform and basic hand tools that will be used in the shop and for future employment. Work boots and safety glasses must be worn at all times in the shop.
