Building Construction Class Helps the Shriners
The Building Construction/Masonry class at the Dutchess BOCES Career and Technical Institute volunteered to build toy "rocking motorcycles."
The motorcycles were built for the Shriners Hospital Burn Centers in Montreal, Philadelphia, and Cincinnati. Two motorcycles were given to each hospital. One of them was painted red, white, and blue, and the second one was stained natural colors.
The students spent approximately 50 hours on this project. Under the direction of their teacher, Mr. Morina, they were busy planning, cutting, sanding, shaping, staining, and assembling. A great deal of teamwork went into this project and the students who worked on it earned community service credit for their efforts.
